Mowing Shoes
May 20 ,2019
Okay, I am maybe a little bit behind on the mowing. I should have mowed on Saturday morning but I steam cleaned a couch and a chair, retrimmed a chair with new trim, built a cabinet for my craft room, and then went out to dinner with friends...so I was not slacking but just working on a different part of my extensive list. Sunday started with church, rewiring the two switches in my bedroom and then a soccer game two hours away...so here I am on Monday after all day at field day and I just can’t handle the grass anymore.
My first question of the day is this….mowsters and mostresses alike...do you have mowing shoes? Here is the dilemma, since I am getting a run in while I mow, I really feel like I need to wear running shoes, but then my running shoes turned green… so do I just call those my mowing shoes? I was forced to buy new running shoes which I will really run in so for now, those old running shoes are it, however, since I am running in them every week, I may have to start replace running shoes more often (oh the struggle to buy new shoes more often).
I heard the other day that they actually have these little mowers kind of like the round room vacuums that actually mow your lawn...WHAT???? The only question would then be… can these things run over dog poop too? Cause those would be awesome! My mother made a good point the other week… when you run over the dog poop, the poop stays on your tires which are on the mower which is currently in the garage. So this leads to my next question??? Is it ok to rinse off your mower with water??? Clearly I know I should not get the water in the engine, but can I still rinse it off??? Cause this week the mower tires held onto that dog poop for dear life. I think I may be letting two teenage girls clean up dog poop. Here is where I make a confession...I have changed hundreds of dirty diapers without any issues but there is just something about dog poop that exploits my sensitivities in the worst way. I am the girl who put her shirt over her face to avoid smelling the dog poo when the dog skyline chili poohed all over my basement and proceeded to throw up in her own shirt (yes true story unfortunately)…. So you see my issue here. I know in my heart I should really just pick the stuff up but ugh….
Today is a day of celebration…. I cut almost 10 minutes off my mowing time… yes, I am timing myself… because remember I am considering this a weekly run so of course I need to improve my time here. Anyway, I rocked that lawn out in an hour and twenty minutes this time. My weeds are half whacked again (I am starting to think it is some subconscious thing that I forget to charge the whacker battery so it doesn’t hurt my time) but I will finish them tomorrow. For the record, I sure hope my neighbors are appreciating me creative efforts.
